We spend our entire careers telling brands they need to have a point a view in order to stand out, yet only a handful of agencies truly differentiate.
Our very own Matt Heath spoke at the Ad Age Small Agency Conference last week on this very topic. "How to market your agency: Creating a clear positioning and staking out specialization". He was joined by Kate Higgins, Courtney Berry and Judann Pollack, who beat this topic up and rained insights on a captivated audience.
Our path to Comedy's Greatest Advertising Agency wasn't easy, it took a commitment to cutting off potentially half of the industry (53% of ads were considered comedic in 2023), but here's why we believe comedy is the best form of advertising and gives us and our clients a competitive advantage:
Memorability 🤔: Funny ads are more memorable. When we laugh, we create a positive association with the brand. Think about some of the most iconic ads – chances are, they made you lol.
Viral Potential 🤣 : Humorous content is highly shareable. People love sharing things that make them laugh, or might make their friends laugh, or even their communities laugh, which means your ad could reach a muuuuuuuch larger audience organically. (that means less 💵 down).
Emotional Connection 🤗 : Comedy taps into our emotions, literally altering brain chemicals, creating a stronger bond between the audience and the brand. This emotional connection leads to increased brand loyalty and fleeting moments of happiness.
Approachability 💏 : A good laugh can make a brand seem more approachable and human (hot tip: humans like humans more than brands). It breaks down barriers and makes the brand more relatable.
Stress Relief 😓 : In our fast-paced lives, a moment of laughter can be a welcome relief. Ads that provide this not only promote the product but also offer a moment of joy and boy oh boy do we need this.
Comedy isn't just about making people laugh; it's about making people feel good about your brand. It's a powerful tool that, when used correctly, can yield amazing results.
