About us
Make-A-Wish® Central & South Texas creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We have granted more than 4,800 wishes since our inception in 1984. Wishes are more than just a nice thing. Wishes bring hope, strengthen wish kids in their battle for health, help families come closer together, rally communities, and change the lives of everyone involved. A combined 89% of doctors, nurses, social workers, and child-life specialists surveyed said that they believe a wish experience has the potential to influence a child's physical health. 🥳Birthday Wishes to our very own Zack! 💙At age 7, Zack was diagnosed with an inoperable brain aneurysm and was told he wouldn’t make it past 9 years old. Now 24 years old, Zack lives every day to the fullest! “I just want to make a difference,” Zack says. “I want people to remember me when I’m gone. I want to inspire people to do random acts of kindness.” 🎁Zack enjoys paying it forward and every year on HIS BIRTHDAY he hosts a toy drive for Make-A-Wish® Central & South Texas! This year he collected 1,140 toys for our MAW CSTX wish kids for when they need it most! 🎉Happy Birthday, Zack! You inspire us all to #dogood, #give to others, and help our #community. 🥹

👋 We are so thrilled to share Sebastian’s wish with you all! Thanks to the power of community and the collaboration of Austin FC, St. David's HealthCare, and our Make-A-Wish® Central & South Texas team, we were able to make Sebastian’s dream a reality. In early May 13-year old Austin FC fan Sebastian attended an Austin FC training session, played soccer with his favorite players, and was invited as a special honorary member of the team on game day! We filled the stands with Sebastian’s family, friends, some Make-A-Wish champions, and our team, as we cheered Sebastian on in warm up – what a crew! 🌟 The strength of our wish community is remarkable and everlasting for all of those involved 🌟 Watch the Full Wish Video here: https://lnkd.in/g2sPHTT2
