Join us in celebrating the talented students in our Youth Aerospace and Maritime programs! 🚀⚓️ This summer, we’ve awarded scholarships to 9 brilliant young minds to support their efforts in building a better future for themselves, their families, and the entire community. They have inspired us by demonstrating their commitment to furthering their education and pursuing careers in engineering, education, aerospace, medicine, and more! Thank you to our generous donors who have made our scholarship programs possible. Your dedication and support are transforming dreams into reality! 💫 You can support these programs through volunteer work, donations, and every time you shop at one of our Goodwill locations. Together we can continue making a difference in our community! 💙 Read more about our programs and meet the student awardees on our blog here: https://lnkd.in/gvMVBAcn #GoodwillStudents #StudentSuccess #FutureLeaders #YouthAerospace #YouthScholarships

About us
Goodwill is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to help low-income and disadvantaged people in our community prepare for and secure jobs so they may achieve self-sufficiency for themselves and their families. The people we help face poverty, lack of education and job skills, and limited English proficiency, all of which have kept them from finding or keeping employment. Our comprehensive, free job training and education programs give our students the skills and training to find and keep a job. Donors and shoppers are critical to our mission. Donations of reusable items from the community are sold in our stores, and the net proceeds, along with financial donations from foundations, corporations and individuals, make it possible for us to operate these programs at no cost to those in need in the communities we serve.

Today is #NationalInternDay and we’re thrilled to be working with Imelda Ramirez and Amy Tran this summer as part of Bank of America’s #Seattle Student Leaders program. Imelda and Amy are learning what’s involved in a social enterprise like Evergreen Goodwill, helping support our #Mission initiatives that provide free job training and #education programs in Northwest Washington. We’re grateful to have these two exceptional #interns and can’t wait to see everything they accomplish! Check back in next month to hear more about their experience with us.
I am so grateful that Nate Silverman, Jorge Perea, Matthew Madrona, and the rest of the Seattle Storm #Partnership team took time out of their busy schedules to make our Bank of America #Seattle #StudentLeaders feel extra special this evening at their FIRST EVER Storm game, when our team triumphed over the Phoenix Mercury. It was supposed to be a simple orientation for Imelda Ramirez and Amy Tran to meet Ruby Jane Alcantara and Scott Rice from Evergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington, and for Loui Agarwal and Vanessa Li to meet Robyn B. Jones from United Way of Pierce County (because Cheri Heng has already started working with Carolina Rocha and Community Roots Housing), but then the Storm partnership team showed up with Doppler in tow. We were even invited to experience the court and take pictures with Jewell Loyd (!). Wow! Truly the best corporate partners. With Leslie Cherry.

Meet Alberto Gloria, a talented artist from Luanda, Angola, and a student at the Evergreen Goodwill Job Training & Education Center. Art has been Alberto's passion since childhood. After moving to the U.S. and escaping political unrest in Angola, he faced financial challenges in pursuing higher education. Evergreen Goodwill's free programs supported him in continuing his work as a painter, visual artist, and designer. We’re proud of his success! Recently, Alberto painted and gifted us the Evergreen Goodwill logo. To support Alberto and see more of his work, visit his profile: @albertogloria55. By contributing to Evergreen Goodwill, you help uplift students like Alberto and assist them in achieving their lifelong goals! 🏆⭐ #studentstories #localseattleartists #seattleartist #goodwillprograms #freeeducation
