The news is finally out! We’re proud to announce that we’ve secured over $10M in our #seed round, led by Ibex Investors and Fresh Fund, joined by strategic partners ENGIE New Ventures and ZIM Integrated Shipping Services 's ZIM Ventures, and our existing investors Jibe Ventures, MoreVC, Secret Chord Ventures, Alex Liakhovetsky, and Avishag Bohbot. CarbonBlue’s vision is one in which industry and environment work hand-in-hand to support a #sustainable future. This vote of confidence by our investors demonstrates their serious commitment to this cause – and, more importantly, helps ensure that the CarbonBlue vision will become a reality. We are looking forward to the next chapter in CarbonBlue’s story, to continue to grow and scale our technology and provide the tools to decarbonize the value chain of water-using #industries. We have learned a lot from the conversations we had with different industries and investors in this process, and feel as sure in our vision and mission as ever. Now it’s time to put these funds to good use. Stay tuned for more exciting news – soon! About us
The primary substance on our planet which absorbs, captures and sequesters atmospheric CO2 is water. Our technology removes CO2 from water, freeing it up to absorb more from the atmosphere, and allowing us to instantly turn any water-based infrastructure into a carbon dioxide removal facility. Our Mission Provide humanity with the technological means to create a sustainable world. Quickly, safely, and profitably. Our Solution Earth’s water sources are the most important atmospheric CO2 sink in the world. Since the industrial revolution, anthropogenic CO2 emissions have risen above the capacity of our waters to absorb them, leading to phenomena like ocean acidification, and hindering our global ecosystem’s ability to self-regulate. Our solution is to remove excess CO2 from the water and lock it away indefinitely, enhancing our planet’s ability to fight climate change by absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere. Our Technology: Marine Calcium Looping Our proprietary process utilizes calcium, one of the most abundant chemical elements on the planet, to mineralize, separate, and remove dissolved CO2 from water in a closed-loop system without further altering its chemical composition or balance in any way. This water can then be safely utilized, or returned to its source, while continuing to perform the crucial function of absorbing more atmospheric CO2 in both cases.

Dan, our CEO, shares his thoughts following his attendance at the #AdvancingOceanCDRSummit
Scaling #CDR matters, but doing it in time is just as important. I spoke about this last week in Boston at the Advancing Ocean CDR Summit. The CDR community has many amazing innovations, but none of them will matter if we can’t reach global CDR scales within the timeframe outlined by the #IPCC. This means that building new infrastructure, which is slow and expensive, isn’t enough. At the summit, I had the opportunity to explain how CarbonBlue approaches this enormous challenge by harnessing existing #infrastructure and why I am optimistic about the future—both of CarbonBlue and the global #climate. The summit gave me many more reasons to be optimistic – mainly, all of the people attending and the fantastic community of innovators that is slowly being built up around the need to remove CO2 from our environment. As always, it is an immense privilege to be a part of this community; this event was an essential reminder of that. Thank you, Advancing Ocean CDR Summit and Aidan Steele, for the opportunity to speak, learn, and connect with other travelers on this path and for creating a space where we can share, learn, and grow.

Adam E., our marketing, communications, and outreach director, spoke with Impact Nation about our technology and vision at the PLANETech - Climate Change Technologies conference last week.
During the recent PLANETech - Climate Change Technologies conference in Tel Aviv, the Impact Nation team had many opportunities to connect with incredible innovators tackling climate change head-on. CarbonBlue Blue aims to remove CO2 from any water source, restore the atmosphere, and rehabilitate Earth’s climate. They fight global warming through a scalable and innovative solution that relies on existing infrastructures and a surprising secret weapon: water! See Adam E. explains CarbonBlue’s mission to turn water into a CO2-removing “climate ally.” #PLANETechWorld2024 #ImpactNation #climatetech #sustainability #carboncapture #carbonblue

Working in climate tech can be a pretty insular experience sometimes. We rarely have time or opportunities to enter a physical space inhabited by other climate innovators, investors, thinkers, and visionaries – which makes yesterday’s PLANETech - Climate Change Technologies' #PLANETech_World24 conference a truly special and valuable occasion. PLANETech gave us the chance to connect with so many individuals, some of whom are old friends of CarbonBlue, others – new, all focused on bringing about a better future. We talked shop, shared insights, and made plans, and really got to feel what an amazing community we have in the #climatetech sphere. Thank you, Noam Sonennberg, Shani Zanescu, Gal Sharon and Noam Agmon – you’ve truly built a home for the climate tech community here in Israel.

Today's suggested reading: our COO and co-founder Iddo Tsur's big takeaways from his attendance at last week's Carbon Unbound East Coast in New York, in which he shares his thoughts on the future of the CDR industry.
Carbon Unbound East Coast in New York was a fantastic opportunity to meet and spend time with the global #CDR community. Many of the topics and ideas we discussed there are extremely important, and I’d like to share some of my thoughts following the summit. 1. First, CDR is not a one-player game. We are constantly identifying new needs along the CDR supply chain, and they all need to be addressed for our environmental undertaking to succeed. 2. "Think global, act local” is more relevant than ever. For CDR projects to succeed, communication and dialogue with local communities are essential. Projects cannot establish this emerging industry without giving a central place to local communities with their knowledge and experience. Neither is it possible to build for a global goal without providing a local benefit. 3. CDR will never be able to lift off the ground as a truly impactful, global industry if the economy and markets that support it aren’t able to stand as a stable foundation firmly. Pioneering organizations like the US DOE and Frontier are pushing the envelope and expanding the demand for high-quality CDR, but we must make sure market demand rises with supply capabilities if we care about continued, sustained growth. Thanks to Carbon Unbound for inviting me to speak and organizing this wonderful summit! CarbonBlue Chante Harris Marley Rafson Chantal Spit
