A number of personal factors effect the way our brains respond to external noises, and how distracting they can be to our workflow. Things like personality, age, music taste, and the task you're working on all play a role in how your brain reacts to stimuli. For example, take extroverted people vs. introverted people. Introverts are far more likely to be affected by external sounds and distractions, and need quieter, calmer music to function best. Extroverts on the other hand need louder, more dynamic music to get into the zone. Take account of your personal needs the next time you lock into a brain.fm session. Don't you just love companies who provide a great customer experience?! A few weeks ago, one of the tools that I'm obsessed with using (brain.fm) stopped working... and I couldn't figure out why. I contacted their customer support team and did everything that they suggested... and for a non-technical person, clearing the cache/ figuring out multiple internet search engines etc... took a fair bit of time. Unfortunately, it also didn't fix the issue. So yesterday, they had three of their epic technical engineering team in a virtual meeting with me... and they agreed that somehow there was a weird issue... but they'd fix it. Within eight hours? Totally fixed... and now I can use it again! I LOVE it when companies show up for their customers in the right way. It's so easy to shout about bad experiences... but it's really important to remember the good ones too. When was the last time a company/ business really impressed you with their customer service?

A quick share of a tool that works for me - music that helps me focus via brain.fm. When I really need to concentrate, I put that on and I can hyper focus. I often put it on and am then shocked at how much time has gone by, and what I have finished when I look up. It's not free, but it is not expensive, and it's one of the few SaaS products that I pay for gladly. Here's the link to their science : https://lnkd.in/eE43Sbsw Thanks for that tip, Tamar Weinberg!
