Pride London Festival Week - July 12 - July 21 During Pride London Festival Week we held several in-office Pride activities, including a video game tournament and board game meet-up to celebrate 2SLGBTQIA+ video game and board game creators. We then ended the week by participating in the London Pride Parade. We were so grateful and excited to celebrate again this year with thousands watching the parade on Sunday. Our team was outfitted in custom Big Blue Bubble pride-themed apparel, bubble guns, and lots of rainbows! Thank you to everyone who came out to support London Pride! If your organization works a hybrid work model we highly recommend getting a ping pong table for your office. Spring Convocation - Congratulations Graduates! Yesterday, our CEO, Claudette Critchley was at Western University as the alumni of honour delivering the address welcoming graduates to the ranks of alumni in the Faculty of Social Science and Faculty of Education. We are very fortunate to have two amazing post secondary schools in our community, Western University and Fanshawe College. Several alumni from both schools work at our Studio. We are also a very proud supporter of the internship program at Western University and co-operative education program at local high schools. Congratulations to all of the 2024 graduates! You should all be extremely proud of your academic accomplishments.

Last night, members of the Big Blue Bubble team volunteered their time to cook a meal for over 100 people staying at Ronald McDonald House (RMHC) or within the children’s floor at the Children's Hospital - London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) RMHC provides a welcoming and secure “home-away-from-home” for families living over 40km away who have seriously ill children in need of hospital medical care. Thank you to our volunteers who did such a great job preparing a delicious Mac n' Cheese bar, and to Tyler for sharing your “secret” Berry Cobbler recipe for the dessert.  It was a huge hit. #KeepingFamiliesClose  #ForRMHC

WHAT A NIGHT! Representatives from the Big Blue Bubble team traveled to Toronto, ON last Thursday to celebrate winning the 2023 Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Culture™ Award, presented by Waterstone Human Capital, in the Growth Category. Congratulations to all the winners in the five categories.  It was such an amazing night to be recognized with other Canadian companies that know the importance of a strong company culture and how culture drives performance.  We also want to take this opportunity to thank all of those who have supported Big Blue Bubble these past 20 years, from our earliest team members who got us off the ground, to our newest team members carrying our games into the future. The Big Blue Bubble Egg Hunt! Everyone in the studio was very “egg-cited” for our annual Easter Egg Hunt yesterday! Amelia and Amanda Bunny visited the studio the night before and hid a special egg for each employee to find which included chocolates and a draw ballot to win a prize.  They also hid 3 "Golden" eggs with extra ballots. As we love team based activities there was also a “Team Hunt” with clues given and steps to follow.  Congratulations to the winning team of Aaron, Chris, Dustin, Emily, Natalie and Sara! February Food Drive Challenge at Big Blue Bubble!  We are a game development studio so of course our February food drive challenge was made into a competition! We split the studio into two teams, Team Mario and Team Luigi. The team that donated the most food in the month of February would be declared the winner. SOUPS ON! - Competition + Potluck With the Winter Season in full swing we thought we would have a soup competition to close out January! Nine soup makers competed to win a prize in 5 categories -  Best Veggie, Best Meat, Most Creative, Best Soup Name and the Apron of Awesome. With soup names like, Get Jjigae With It, Souper Bowl LVIII, Hopeless Ramen-tic and Kind of a Big Dill you know it was a fun contest! Not only was this a competition but also a potluck where employees enjoyed yummy soup by making a donation to our Ronald McDonald House grocery fund. We were able to raise $326 dollars in total. In the Spring, eight employees will be heading to Ronald McDonald House in London, Ontario to prepare a meal for families staying at the house while caring for their sick children who are in the hospital. Great soup and raising funds for a great cause - WE ARE LOVING IT!
