🔎 🌊 APTIM Coastal Sciences & Engineering is proud to share that the Marine Minerals Program of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has published our report on critical minerals within US territorial waters! We are grateful for the opportunity to co-author this BOEM-funded report alongside our partners: CRU, Geomarine Resources (Dan McConnell), CSA Ocean Sciences Inc., and The Water Institute. https://lnkd.in/gEMqUN3U The report, titled “Resource Evaluation of Critical and Hard Offshore Mineral Programmatic Reference (RE-CHOMPR),” focuses on the exploration, characterization, and use of critical minerals, including mining, transport, and refining technologies. An adequate supply of domestic sources of critical minerals is necessary for US economic prosperity and national security. APTIM has worked with BOEM for over three years, providing geophysical, geological, and environmental data and related geospatial and analytical services. We support BOEM’s exploration and leasing of sand and gravel for use in coastal resilience, restoration, and beach nourishment projects, as well as the exploration, leasing, and development of hard minerals for the National Offshore Sand Inventory and a future National Offshore Critical Mineral Inventory. We look forward to continuing our work for BOEM of assessing and characterizing marine minerals to protect and restore our coastlines and marine environments. Thankfully, there are environmental and infrastructure solutions that can help. https://lnkd.in/ggzCcTwh In part two of our blog series on public health, Environmental Compliance & Sustainability Intern Ellie Johnson and Emergency Management Intern Brooke Lovett discuss the impacts and risks of heatwaves and what governments, corporations, and individuals can do to cool off. What are you doing to protect yourself, your community, and/or your employees from the dangers of heatwaves? Let us know in the comments. #Heatwave #PublicHealth #EnvironmentalSolutions #Sustainability #ResilientCommunities #InPursuitOfBetter
