ADWEEK's Kathryn Lundstrom sat down with Parbinder Dhariwal, vp and gm at CVS Media Exchange (CMX), to discuss how the pharmacy chain is building a retail media business into a 61-year-old retailer. "As retail media networks get more sophisticated, you’re going to see that moving outside of traditional trade funds and into brand dollars. As cookies start to deprecate, you’re going to see us supporting brands to help them understand what’s happening from a consumer standpoint," he said. https://adweek.it/3WjaxZk

Walmart is schooling parents in what their kids actually like. A new five-minute spot, titled “School Style Decoded,” is a music video that promotes the back-to-school trends most popular with kids. TikTok fashion influencer Taylen Biggs and YouTuber Kat Stickler star in the ad, with Biggs leading a school in a musical performance that shows parents what trends are cool — and maybe more importantly, what isn’t cool. https://adweek.it/3Yj0juE

Dua Lipa has an overactive imagination, and that's fine by Porsche AG because the luxury brand wasn't looking for "a typical car commercial" with a famous spokesperson. The multiple Grammy winner not only fronts the new Porsche spot, she wrote and co-directed it as part of her recently inked partnership with the automaker. And what she came up with--a genre-hopping mashup with zombies, elephants and doppelgangers, race courses, moon landings and car chases--is kind of bananas, in a highly entertaining way.
