ACE Mentor Program of Greater NY

We are so thrilled this year's Mentor Summer Social will be at Thornton Tomasetti on August 8th from 6-9PM! Mentors voted on the theme for the party and the winner was... Hawaiian! For those who don't know, ACE GNY hosts the Mentor Summer Social each summer to applaud the individuals who chose to make a positive impact on the larger A-E-C community through their commitment to mentorship. Mentors are full-time professionals and devote time to high school students throughout the school year to share their knowledge and passion with the future architects, engineers, and construction professionals of the world. The Mentor Committee has been planning this event behind the scenes and is excited to make it a memorable one! There will be food, adult beverages, raffles, a selfie booth, and more. Congratulations to the Mentor Leadership Program's Class of 2024! The MLP's third year cohort has officially graduated and we could not be more proud of these brilliant young professionals. They were recognized this week at a reception hosted at Perkins Eastman, surrounded by many in the ACE GNY community, including the MLP Class of 2023. It is clear these are rising stars of the industry and ACE GNY is glad to be able to support them as they make big waves in their careers. Today we spotlight our last, but certainly not least, Mentor Committee Leadership Council member! One of the ACE GNY greats, Jeffrey Messinger, PE, LEED AP BD-C has been involved with the organization for over two decades; it is clear how he has left a positive impression along the way! In his current role as Mentor Liaison for the Mentor Committee, he fields inquiries from mentors and connects teams with resources relevant to their needs. Jeff has been a Team Leader for Team 11 for many years, and has been a fantastic advocate for students and mentors to ensure they are getting the most out of their opportunity to be on the STV team. Today we highlight a special member of the Mentor Committee's Leadership Council: Victoria Vetter! Victoria embodies what it means to be a Member-at-Large on the Committee by being a self-starter and proactively reaching out to other individuals on the MCLC to identify how she can support different initiatives. This is actually what led to Victoria being deeply involved with the current refresh of the ACE GNY Virtual Resource Library; she has been working behind the scenes to pave the way for the new and improved version, set to be launched for the Fall 2024 kickoff!
