Stats
With complex battle systems and lots of flashy spells and techniques to keep you invested, RPGs like Genshin Impact use a complicated combination of stats to calculate the damage caused of each and every attack.
You can do mostly fine equipping any old weapon and mashing the attack button, but opting to understand how each and every stat plays a part in your performance can help you overcome difficult challenges and, ultimately, save time.
Viewing Stats
You can quickly view a character's stats by going into the Character screen. Whichever character is highlighted will have their current total base stats displayed on the right, made up of their base stats and any extra given by current equipment and and buffs or consumables still in effect.
To get a detailed breakdown of the bonuses applied to their Base Stats, tap into the Details menu below this section or hit the top face button of your controller. You'll also be able to view Advanced Stats and Elemental Type stats here, too.
Stat Effects
All stats play a role in overall damage calculation. Base stats like ATK (Attack) are unique to each character, meaning no two characters with the same equipment will ever share the same stats. Advanced Stats like CRIT Rate and Energy Recharge, however, are the same regardless of character, requiring specific items or effects to increase.
Base Stats
- Max HP: The total amount of damage you can take before falling in battle.
- ATK: The base amount of damage you’ll deal before the target's stats are taken into account.
- DEF: Reduces damage taken before the attacker's stats are taken into account.
- Elemental Mastery: Increases the damage of Elemental Reactions like Vaporize and Swirl and damage absorption bonus of shields caused by Crystallize on a percentage scale.
- Max Stamina: The maximum amount of Stamina you can hold at any one time. Consumed when gliding, sprinting, swimming, or using Charged Attacks. Regenerates over time.

- CRIT DMG: The amount of extra attack damage you’ll deal when landing a CRIT.

- Incoming Healing Bonus: The amount of extra HP you’ll receive when healed by an attack, skill, or burst that restores HP.
