Cloud Sql Backup Retention

Quick question, I did not find the answer when searching.

Is it ok to delete older instance backups? We have them going back since we created the instance and we are not going to rollback that far. I'd like to clean them up to just what we might need to recover to.

Hello @cbuckley  ,Welcome on Google Cloud Community.

basically yes. If you don't need to rollback you SQL to states from that backup time, it's okay to remove not needed backups. CloudSQL backups are incremental, so they contain only data that changed after the previous backup was taken. So I would recommend to remove all backup instances older than actual one - 1 ( you will have actual backup and the first one before taking this newest).
