Skin care isn’t frivolous or overkill. It’s an opportunity for you to treat your body with respect and help reduce instances of acne, wrinkles, dry skin, irritated skin, redness, and more. You can keep it healthy from the inside out with the simplest of actions. Remember, you don’t need to shy away from the term “beauty.” If you look good, you’ll feel good!

During your workouts you sweat. You drag a towel across your face, lay on a bench where others have been, grip the back of your neck as you prepare for the next lift, and move your hair out of your face as you push yourself toward the finish line with your cardio. Sure, slapping cold water across your face will improve your circulation and cool you down, but it will do little else.

No matter your gender, age, or lifestyle, your skin can be beautiful. It’s as unique as you are, with smooth and rough patches, freckles, birth marks, stretch marks, scars, wrinkles, moles, and a whole lot or just a little bit of melanin (or both, in cases of vitiligo).

Take pride in your skin and treat it with beauty care products that will help it feel and look its best. Your skin care routine may include:

Lip balm to protect your lips from dryness, chapping, and sun damage

• Vitamins to round out your nutritional needs and help your skin at a cellular level

Your beauty care is more than just your face: from your scalp to the soles of your feet, every inch of your skin could benefit from a little extra TLC and even a little aromatherapy.

Often, the goal of your skin care isn’t perfection. It’s prevention. In the shower, when you wash your body, you’re not just wiping off dead skin cells, dirt, and sweat, but you’re helping to brighten your skin. Then, as you massage a facial moisturizer into your skin, you’re working to maintain a smooth, supple texture that doesn’t look dry or discolored. You’re also encouraging blood flow simply by rubbing the lotion in. You will look and feel better just from the simple act of cleansing and moisturizing your body.

Keep in mind as you start or continue your skin care journey that it may take a while to find which products do your skin the most good. If one moisturizer leaves you feeling greasy, find another that absorbs more to your liking. The CBD beauty products that helped your friend feel better about their skin may not have the same effect on yours. Don’t give up: Talk to experts and find the beauty care products that are right for your personal needs. Your skin is worth it, and so are you.
