Assassination Classroom is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yūsei Matsui. It made its debut on Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine on July 2012 and consists a total of 21 tankōbon volumes by the end of the series. The story follows a classroom of misfits in their attempt to assassinate their extraterrestrial homeroom teacher to prevent the end of mankind. Their octopus-like sensei blew up 70% of the Earth's moon and was threatening to do the same to the planet one year later, but gives humanity a chance for salvation by teaching his students regular school subjects and the art of assassination. The Japanese government has given a bounty of 10 billion yen to whomever student succeeds in assassinating the global threat.

Assassination Classroom was the 7^th best-selling manga in Japan in 2013, having over 20 million copies in circulation worldwide as of July 2016, two exhilarating seasons for its anime adaptation, a live action movie for each season, and an original video animation (OVA).
