Join EFF Staff Attorney Hanni Fakhoury at the Bar Association of San Francisco's 2012 Barristers Annual Meeting for an in-depth legal discussion of the Supreme Court's landmark decision in United States v. Jones, requiring law enforcement to obtain a search warrant before installing a GPS device onto a car. This continuing legal education course will examine the ongoing struggle courts are facing in attempting to fit new technologies within the contours of the Fourth Amendment, discuss other cases applying the Fourth Amendment to email, tweets, and cell phone location data, and examine new constitutional challenges to electronic searches and seizures.
