Wikimedia's Crypto-thon will provide valuable information about security, as well as practical skills to improve privacy and communicate more securely. Guests will include:
- Srdja Popovic, a founder and leader of Otpor!, the movement credited with bringing down Serbian President Slobodan Milosovic in non-violent revolution.
- Nico Sell, an organizer of Defcon and CEO of Wickr, an encrypted messaging service. She'll do a demo of how data can be taken from popular cell phones.
- EFF staff will be on hand to help attendees assess their personal risk when it comes to security and privacy, and get started with the tools they need.
Everyone will need an ID to enter the building. You must rsvp here and be on the guest list ahead of time.
