With the slogan 'Internet as a catalyst for change: access, development, freedoms and innovation', the sixth annual meeting of the United Nations Internet Governance Forum will take place in Nairobi, Kenya on 27-30 September 2011 at the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON). EFF staffers are participating in insightful presentations and panel discussions this year, and have co-organized essential workshops about privacy, surveillance, and Internet intermediaries. The Internet Governance Forum is a multi-stakeholder policy dialogue space first convened by the United Nations Secretary General in 2006 to discuss Internet policy issues. More than 1,500 policymakers, technologists, business sector representatives, Euro parliamentarians, intergovernmental organizations, civil society organizations, and others will be participating in the meeting.
