Ready to save the day and carry the squad to victory in Power Grab? We got your six with five tips. Plus: a closer look at a Weapon Blueprint from the “Tracer Pack: Die Hard Operator” bundle.

Today is A Good Day to Die Hard because as part of the ’80s Action Heroes event, you can pick up the “Tracer Pack: Die Hard Operator” bundle, featuring John McClane, in the Call of Duty®: Warzone™ and Black Ops Cold War Store.

This kickoff week also saw the debut of Power Grab in WarzoneTM, a limited-time mode where weapons are hot and the action is even hotter. And that’s not all; look for new game modes in Black Ops Cold War, other free content in Season Three Reloaded, and a certain new plaza towering over Downtown Verdansk…

We have a job to do: Become another type of action hero during Season Three — a Prestige Master.

With all this action going down in Call of Duty® this weekend and beyond, let’s level up:

This Week’s Featured Operator

Available only until June 18* within the “Tracer Pack: Die Hard Operator” bundle, John McClane is our obvious choice for this week’s featured Operator.

A hard-bitten cop from the streets of New York, John McClane has a talent for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Ensure your enemies are always welcome to the party with this limited-time bundle, which includes not only John McClane but also a new Finishing Move, items for your player profile, and three Weapon Blueprints, one of which we feature as our Weapon Blueprint of the week (see “Gunsmith Weapon Blueprint of the Week” below).

*Note: John McClane is a brand-new Call of Duty Operator; it is not a skin for previously released Operators. Though the bundle is only available for a limited time, all elements from the bundle will continue to be available to utilize in both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone once the ‘80s Action Heroes event is over.

Top Tip — Five More Tips for Power Grab

The ’80s Action Hero event isn’t just a celebration of two iconic heroes; it’s also about you and the whole squad becoming true elite Operators in Call of Duty, including in Warzone’s limited-time Power Grab mode.

We broke down the basics of this mode and provided five initial tips earlier this week. Here are five more tips catered more toward those looking to break from the extras and star as the victorious squad in this high-stakes Battle Royale:

1. Doing Contact Work on the Side

There are additional ways to collect Dog Tags, which are used to earn in-game rewards in Power Grab, outside of kills.

Supply Boxes have a small chance of dropping them, while Contracts can offer them as rewards, especially at higher Contract Reward levels. Even if it is just picking up Bounties as you travel across Verdansk, Contracts could seriously help tip you into higher reward tiers, which ultimately can help you win engagements.

2. Don’t Take the Bait

If a Dog Tag is sitting out in the open, it may seem obvious to run out and grab it.

Don’t. Or at least, don’t go until you ensure the coast is clear.

Remember to check corners indoors for CQB combatants, check rooftops and windows for snipers, and check your Tac Map for oncoming enemy vehicle traffic.

3. Aggressive Rotation Strategies Encouraged

Because there are only five fast-moving Circle Collapses in a Power Grab game, knowing when and how to rotate from area to area may be crucial to your squad’s success.

When deciding to rotate around the map, first identify where the next collapse will be and your current position. Calculate the threats nearby, such as cars parked where they shouldn’t be, and execute the strategy with solid coordination throughout the squad.

Rotating is covered more in-depth within the Circle Collapse section of the Warzone guide: click here to learn more.

4. Change Your Cash Strategy

Through the Power Grab reward tree, you’ll be able to earn UAVs, Killstreaks, Gas Masks, and Armor Satchels; this may affect what you go for at a Buy Station.

Other than getting Loadout Drops, it may be wise to divert your spending on UAVs and other Killstreaks and save an extra $1,000 for a Self-Revive Kit or, if your team is low on Redeploy Tokens, the ability to revive a squad member.

5. Save for the Final Circle

No matter what you stock up on at the Buy Station or what you collect throughout Verdansk, there is one action-movie trope that you should never fall into: entering the last showdown when you’re out of ammo.

In addition to keeping track of your ammo reserves, consider valuable one-time-use rewards, such as the Advanced UAV or even a Precision Airstrike, until there are only a few teams remaining. That way, when it comes time to get the win, your squad will be armed to the teeth and ready to ride off into the sunset.

Gunsmith Weapon Blueprint of the Week

The “Tracer Pack: Die Hard Operator” bundle includes three Legendary Weapon Blueprints, and one of them, the “Plaza Security” assault rifle, is this week’s Gunsmith Weapon Blueprint of the Week.

The base version of this Blueprint, the FARA 83, is known for its high fire rate and great stopping power. The five attachments on this Weapon Blueprint turn this assault rifle into a much more mobile weapon, as well as one that reloads quicker thanks to Taped Mags.

We recommend using the “Plaza Security” in Multiplayer or in Warzone with an aggressive, yet tactical, playstyle. The Barrel and Stock attachments significantly increase Aim Walking Movement Speed, meaning that you can aim down sights while advancing around corners, ensuring you’re ready when a fight breaks out at range.

This weapon is also stellar in Zombies. Aim walking is a common practice when backing away from hordes as they charge, so this configuration works wonders for managing large undead mobs. Also, the Mounted Flashlight offers a boost in Salvage Drop Rate, which is crucial for building valuable Equipment and Support items.

No matter where you want to use this weapon, just know that it’s ready to help you escort the competition out of the lobby.

Execute the mission.
