Rozrog is a fortress in Verden, a minor northern kingdom which borders Cintra. The fortified city is at the mouth of the mighty Yaruga. Nearby are the fortresses of Bodrog and Nastrog. The Yaruga river itself forms a natural border with neighboring Cintra.[1]

Rozrog stands as the legacy of actions taken by the elves.

History[]

Ervyll's Reign[]

In 1263, after the Nilfgaardian Empire took the lands south of the Yaruga in the First Northern War, King Ervyll of Verden used the three fortresses as an "iron curtain", protection should the Nilfgaardians march north.[1]

In July 1267, after Ervyll's decision of fealty to Nilfgaard during the Second Northern War, the three fortresses were occupied by Imperial troops, and garrisons built in each.[2]

Herwig's Rule[]

Later, the came into control of a certain former King Herwig and served as the setting for Geralt and Yennefer's wedding. Galahad mistook the ruins for Montsalvat, but Dandelion asserted that they were not in Avalon, but Schwemmland.

It is described as a shapeless heap of stones in a dire need of general repair, standing on a cape in the middle of the lake.
