Marck was a squire from Verden in the service of the knight Voymir.[1]
Biography[]
In 1262, he helped Ciri escape from Nastrog and from her arranged wedding to King Ervyll's son, Prince Kistrin. Unfortunately for the young squire, the horse bearing him and Ciri fell in Brokilon forest and broke its leg, leaving himself and the princess stranded and lost in the fog. Whilst wandering the forest, the boy had encountered a group of dryads, who fired an arrow in an attempt to warn him to turn around and leave their domain. Marck hadn't understood, panicked, and begun to run the wrong way, directly toward the one who had ordered him to stop and withdraw at once. For his misunderstanding, Marck was struck by an arrow straight through his eye, killing him instantly.[1]
