Lady Schwann was the wife of Joachim Schwann, the tax collector of Novigrad, and mother of their daughter.[1]
Biography[]
After Joachim's death,[2] she grew sour at her daughter's promiscuity and paid a mage to cast a spell that would teach her to save it for marriage: anyone she kissed would be transformed into a frog.
In 1272, after folk spread word of a monster transforming daughters into frogs around the city, Lady Schwann was approached by the witcher Geralt of Rivia. She told him that her daughter had been tricked and kissed by the monster in the sewers. The witcher fought the creature, who told him Schwann's daughter was the actual one with the curse, and so Geralt confronted the two, convincing the mother and daughter to reconcile and reenlist the mage's help in removing the curse.[1]
