Kaer Trolde mountain is the highest peak in the archipelago above the Kaer Trolde where famous citadel is standing. Geralt must race Cerys an Craite to the top where the winner may remove Hjalmar's axe from the stump.
According to legend, Grymmdjarr, first lord of Ard Skellig, dove into the depths of the sea and used the thickest chain his father, Hemdall, could forge to drag an enormous rock to the surface, placing it on Ard Skellig's northeastern shore. This enormous rock was the mountain that Grymmdjarr carved Kaer Trolde out of with his bare hands, and where it stands to this day, the pride and glory of his clan, Clan an Craite.
