The Varnhagens was a Nilfgaardian family who established the fortress at Sarda in Geso. They were sworn enemies of the Sweers family.[1]
History[]
During their appointment as rulers of the region during Geso's surrender, they quelled a rebellion in nearby White River, putting the village to the torch and murdering/enslaving it's residents. Nilfgaardian settlers repopulated the area and renamed the village Glyswen.[1]
The Blue Knight[]
In July 1267, this age-old vendetta with the Sweers was settled (quite finally for both sides), when the Blue Knight, representing the Varnhagen's, faced off against Sir Sweers en route between the Korath desert and Glyswen. Neither of them lived to see the final outcome of their duel.[1]
