Gascaden was a witcher trainee at the same time as Geralt. Geralt bound Gascaden's injuries after a training session in which they were supposed to throw their teacher, Osbert, off his horse. They passed the Trial of the Grasses together and became fully fledged witchers now able to apply their craft in the world.

- While he appeared only in the Polish TV series The Hexer, Gascaden is also mentioned by Vesemir in Netflix's The Witcher as one of the deceased witchers, alongside Sorel, another character created for the Polish series.
