Demaretta (later: Demaretta of Gulet) was a prostitute from Aldersberg and a lover of King Demavend III of Aedirn.
During the Second Northern War, when Nilfgaardian soldiers attacked the city of Aldersberg, King Demavend, with the help of Queen Meve of Lyria and Rivia defended the city until Demaretta gave birth to Demavend's son Baldwin.
Later, once they escaped from the city which was burned to the ground by Imperial soldiers, the king named her countess of Gulet and she joined his royal court.[1]

In the Polish edition she is named Damroka. It is possible that her true name was Damroka, and name Demaretta was given to her so that she would have more noble name.
