Ben of Kovir was a Kovirian arbalest and member of Arnout Vester's gang.[1]
Biography[]
In 1272, Ben was contacted by Letho, a witcher from the School of the Viper, who had previously saved his father's life. The two agreed that if Vester tracked down Letho or he found them, Ben would shoot him in a non-lethal spot before any real fighting broke out, and then be the one to check if he was "dead", so as to end the hunt for the witcher.[1]
If Geralt chose to help Letho: After tracking down Letho, the gang was stationed in Lindenvale, where they were approached by the Viper School witcher and Geralt of Rivia. Ben held his word and shot Letho in the shoulder as he approached, much to Arnout's annoyance and Geralt's anger, which fueled a fight and the death of the whole gang.

- Ben's name and past is only mentioned in a cut scene during The Battle of Kaer Morhen if you also completed Ghosts of the Past, where Geralt can ask Letho about the event, asking "how much did you pay the arbalist?". This is only accessible through mods.
- Regardless of the extra dialogue, Geralt kills Ben if he chooses to fight the gang; being the son of Letho's friend and his "spy", it seems unlikely Letho would allow Ben to be killed by Geralt and never mention it before or after his death. This is quite possibly the reason as much dialogue was removed about Ben, as the quest wouldn't have made as much sense.
