The Battle of Aldersberg took place in mid July 1267[1] after the invasion by Nilfgaard of Dol Angra. Talks between Nilfgaard and the north broke down and Queen Meve of Lyria and King Demavend of Aedirn decided to close the front.[2]

After the successful assimilation of Rivia, the Nilfgaardian Army, led by Field Marshall Menno Coehoorn, marched north to Aedirn to the gates of Aldersberg, where they were met by the Aedirnian and Lyrian-Rivian troops. Heavily outnumbered due to issues with the Scoia'tael and border forts, the Northerners were down nearly half their numbers to 5-6,000, including no more than 1,200 knights. Coehoorn brought a force of roughly 13,000, including 10 armoured companies. The Northerners were decisively beaten back, and Aedirn and its capital, placed under Imperial occupation.[2]
