What is it? Weblog Posting Month, 2024! If you use weblog.lol, or otherwise have a personal blog, you should absolutely participate in this month-long blog posting extravaganza!
I encourage people to choose a guiding topic for the month, something that will help them feel propelled to post. It could be a loosely defined goal, perhaps you are learning something new and this would be a way to talk yourself through it on a daily basis, or post about progress.
People should also feel free to help each other by creating a group topic if it strikes you! If you are a weblog.lol or omg.lol user, I think we should use a Discourse thread to keep in touch. Discord and Mastodon are also options. Feel free to find what works for you!
Inspiration
I was inspired to suggest this adventure based on the success and accomplishment I felt at completing NaBloPoMo in November 2023. I also watched a recent writing challenge this year in February by some folks I follow on Mastodon (and their blogs) in a community called Wiggle Work.
I am also (selfishly) prepping myself to get back into a daily blogging habit so I can complete Kev Quirk's 100 Days To Offload within the next year.
Timeline
Probably obvious from the name: this is a one-month blogging challenge! It will start May 1, 2024, and end May 31, 2024. You will post as much as you can, ideally daily, but we all have lives, so go easy on yourself. This is meant to be fun!
If you use categories, tags, or hashtags, in your posts, or cross-post to platforms that use them, please use the tag #WeblogPoMo2024.

If you are on Mastodon or other Fediverse-compatible platform, you can follow Pomo, a bot that posts all new #WeblogPoMo2024 posts from the Participator's feeds. Thanks to Brandon for creating the bot.
