W&W SAGE 2020 demo is here!
Well, I did my best to get as much as I could in before the showcase started. I’m gonna keep workin’ on it throughout the week/weekend because a lot is missing but now y'all can try what I’ve got so far :)
going overboard with debug/test areas is my favorite part of gamedev

Man, I’m facing so many design decisions. One card per turn? Multiple? Some sort of stamina system for many simple/weak motions each turn? Complex cards simulating sweeping arcs or special moves? Wildcards for user-specified transformations??
Looks really interesting. You could allow each player to do 3-5 moves each turn and defining the timing for each move, sort of like Frozen Synapse.
Man, I had forgotten all about FS. I think I’ll give it another whirl for inspiration. Cheers :)
Gamedev is serious business guys
New scanned assets and some of the old ones with some better camera animations. Check out the full version on youtube!
All of the shots in the video were rendered in realtime.
Check out this not-quite-gamedev stuff!
The start of a destructible item system.
I’ll send the players some bugs
Players love bugs
Looks like it’s almost feature complete. Added a trigger event for improved precision on percussion instruments, a max-value line to fine tune the trigger, spectrum scaling, noob-proofing measures, e.t.c.
I’m focusing on making this as user friendly as possible where you can make use of most of the tool’s features without writing a single line of code. I’m also making sure it’s easily extendable, however, so that you can build your own implementations for the outputs with little effort.
I’m considering giving out a couple of copies of this tool in exchange for bug reporting. Maybe a video of its implementation into the user’s project too. Let me know if you’re interested in trying it out!
Took a few days, but I got rid of the last two pesky major bugs. I’d say this thing is now 100% finished, but I’m going to polish it some with tooltips and other user-friendly features and add a demo scene before tossing it up on the asset store.
If you have any ideas for features you think would be cool (or ideas for demos to put in the demo scene), please do let me know. I’m starving for more types of implementations.
