    IN THE NEWS: Miu Miu Drives Double-digit Revenue Growth at Prada Despite Luxury Sector's Decline Miu Miu had a stellar start to 2024, firmly establishing itself as a leading force in the fashion industry. Recently crowned the world's most popular fashion brand by the Lyst Index, they achieved an impressive 89% increase in retail sales year-over-year, as reported by the Prada Group - which came despite a broader slowdown in luxury spending. While Miu Miu captured the spotlight with its significant sales surge, the flagship Prada brand also saw a 7% increase in sales over the same period. Unlike many other leading luxury companies, which have faced challenges in the Asian market, the Prada Group enjoyed a 16% rise in retail sales within the Asia-Pacific region. The company's success extended to Europe as well, where it maintained strong momentum with an 18% increase in sales year-over-year. "Sharpness of positioning, creativity and communication will be critical this year," Group CEO Andrea Guerra noted. "While the industry is experiencing new dynamics, we retain our ambition to deliver solid, sustainable and above market growth."     IN THE NEWS: Fashion Takes Centre Stage at the Olympics Ceremony The pouring rain didn’t spoil the four-hour opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, which was held on the Seine on 26 July. LVMH — which spent €150 million to seal its premium partnership with the Olympics, according to sources — scored highly at the ceremony. Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, Aya Nakamura and Juliette Armanet performed in Dior; Paris Opera’s Guillaume Diop danced in Louis Vuitton on the Hôtel de Ville rooftop; and a scene featured the making of the medals trunk in the Louis Vuitton ateliers and its journey from the Pont Neuf to the Trocadéro. The show also featured 15 emerging fashion designers, selected by Daphné Bürki, the 2024 Olympics’s stylist and costume director.     IN THE NEWS: MIISTA Debut Office Style "Rage Room" in NYC Store Inviting Fans to Come and Smash It Up Spanish fashion label MIISTA just opened their first-ever New York store, and naturally — it opened with a bang. Looking at the somewhat depressing political landscape and current state of the world, Miista took inspiration from the collective anger of its community, wanting to give them a space to vent and let out their rage by building a “depressing office block” in its new store, inviting New York-based fans to come in and smash it all up. Drawing inspiration from the toxicity of the corporate office, one overwhelmingly run by white men who earn far more than their female counterparts, the set-up aimed to provide its community with a cathartic release — one that Miista hopes to continue with its ongoing “Rage Wall.” As the US gears up for November’s momentous election, Miista invites its New York-based community to head down to its new store and express their anger on a Post-It note, adding to a community-filled wall. “Our New York store is our pledge to be a lasting part of this community, and our rage wall, a commitment to keep challenging the status quo,” Miista confirms. 💡 HypeBae 💻 https://lnkd.in/dw7D9AVQ #fashion #retail #marketing #brand #brandexperience
