We are launching our new strategy ‘From Crisis to Hope.’ in our 30th anniversary year, working towards three main goals: 1. Going missing is understood as a crisis that can be a matter of life or death. 2. All missing people and their loved ones get the right help at the right time. 3. Fewer missing people come to harm. Learn more and read the full strategy on our website: https://lnkd.in/eHFjEfpw
About us
Missing People is the only charity in the UK dedicated to bringing missing children and adults back together with their families. • Our free, confidential helpline is available by phone, text or email to missing children and adults, and their families. • Young people can also access information and help via our Runaway Helpline website www.runawayhelpline.org.uk. • In partnership with every police force in the UK, we circulate missing appeals via social media, digital billboards and in print to help find missing children and adults. • We provide face-to-face support for children after they return from being missing, helping them deal with the triggers that made them leave. Missing People relies on donations, volunteering and pro bono support from individuals, charitable trusts and companies – and we are passionate about giving back to everyone who helps the charity to be a lifeline. We are also committed to supporting and developing our staff and volunteers. We were delighted to come 18th in the annual Sunday Times "100 best not-for-profit organisations to work for" list in 2016. - To find out how you can help the charity Missing People please call 0800 64 77 464. - To call our helpline for free, confidential advice please call 116 000. - For information about current vacancies, see www.missingpeople.org.uk/work-for-us Registered charity in England and Wales (1020419) and in Scotland (SC047419)

Missing People reposted this
Yesterday, we had the privilege of walking with Peter Boxell a part of a walk for hope for Lee Boxell. Lee Boxell went missing in 1988. The Boxell family live in Sutton and have worked closely with Missing People for many years now. We are delighted to be supporting a local family and raising money for an excellent cause. Last Tuesday, we hosted our second Impact Breakfast at the wonderful Norton Rose Fulbright offices, and what a fantastic morning it was! We are truly grateful to everyone who attended – your support means the world to us. And of course, to our hosts. Thank you for having us! The topic of ESG resonated strongly with the room, which is incredibly encouraging. It is evolving beyond a corporate buzzword and making significant strides in both the charity sector and the corporate world. Seeing ESG principles being widely adopted to promote ethical behaviour and positive social impact is heartening. A huge thank you to our guest speakers, Jennifer Hammond from Royal Mail and Jo Youle, Missing People’s CEO. Your insights were invaluable. #ImpactBreakfast #ESG #CorporateResponsibility #SocialImpact #ThankYou

We’ve launched the 'Principles for the Police Response to Missing People and their Families' to try and ensure everyone gets an equal response, as some families aren’t getting the response they need or deserve when they report a loved one as missing. Thank you Gemma and the rest of the Safeguarding team at Southeastern Railway for your tireless efforts to support people at risk. Best of luck with the cycle challenge!
Gemma Lemon (nee Davis) from our Safeguarding team, met with the Missing People Charity yesterday, along with other donors and partners. Our Safeguarding team work very closely with this incredible charity to help spread important messages - for example - we use our digital poster boards to display live appeals of missing people and our static poster boards to show how to get support. The Safeguarding team have just submitted a relay team for their eight hour cycle challenge on 5th September! 🚴♀️ Someone is reported missing every 90 seconds in the UK and the money raised will go towards the important work that this charity do. https://lnkd.in/g7H3aAA
