So it's great to see our 'Schools Campaign Team' spreading the JUST ONE Tree message at the Climate Change Summit for Schools in Essex. A fab day was had. Lots of smiles all around. And lots of schools signing up to our JUST ONE Tree Day. The 2024 school’s Just One Tree Day will be on October 18th! Why not ask ask your school to sign up and get the date in the school diary before the end of summer term? Most schools hold a non-uniform or ‘wear something green’ day, but JUST ONE TREE Day can be any kind of fundraiser you want it to be. It creates a springboard for environmental education, reduces climate anxiety through positive action and helps compensate for your school’s environmental impact. Join children, parents and teachers in demonstrating the positive impact JUST ONE individual can have on the environment. Every £1 raised plants at least 1 tree. We’re celebrating Atlantic Forest Day with every sapling planted, every ecosystem restored, and every breath of fresh air we preserve. The Atlantic Forest protects one of the world’s richest biodiversities, provides unparalleled scenic beauty and contributes to freshwater supply for over half of the Brazilian population and also to climate regulation in some of the biggest Brazilian cities. There is only seven (7) per cent of the biome left in its natural state and 60 per cent of the animals which threatened with extinction in Brazil depend on this environment to survive. Today stands for the need to stop deforestation, recover the degraded forest and to increase the number of protected areas.
