This conversation will feature organizations that create opportunities for historically excluded creators, frequently by finding funding for their projects, and how that both changes the creator's life and can also lead to systemic change.

Christine Yi is the General Manager of Gold House Futures where she leads investments and development programs for next-generation and independent Asian Pacific creatives and companies.

Rohi Mirza Pandya

Rohi Mirza Pandya is an award-winning Creative Producer in film, television, and theater, Co-founder of Box Office Guru Media, Inc., a multicultural marketing agency and is a partner in the RASA film group. She is a Founder of the South Asian House which had their first ever houses at SXSW and Tribeca Festival in 2023 and continues to grow.

As co-founder of Box Office Guru Media Inc., a media consulting firm specializing in Indian films releasing in the North American market, she has created and executed marketing campaigns targeting the South Asian American audience for over 400+ films over the past twenty years including Slumdog Millionaire, The Namesake, Monsoon Wedding, Bend It Like Beckham, Lion, Yesterday, plus the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel films and the Harold & Kumar films. Clients include Disney, Universal, Amazon, Bleecker Street, Fox Searchlight, Paramount, Sony and Focus and the company offers services in publicity, promotions, marketing and advertising.

She is particularly proud of her volunteer work championing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the New York City public school system and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Brooklyn Children’s Theater, helping to shape their Equity, Inclusion and Belonging initiatives.

She received her MBA in Marketing from the University of Colorado and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Certification from Cornell University.

Since The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC®)’s Hollywood Bureau was launched in 2011, Sue Obeidi has blended her faith with her love of film, television, and digital series to change and expand the narrative of Islam and Muslims in the entertainment industry.

Obeidi and her team ensure that The MPAC® Hollywood Bureau is a partner with the entertainment industry. Behind the scenes, Obeidi engages decision-makers and creatives to improve the quality and number of authentic, nuanced, and inclusive presentations of Islam and Muslims so that audiences can see Muslims as vital contributors to creating social and cultural change in America and around the world. She also enriches the pool of Muslim talent in Hollywood by nurturing and connecting them to those who can assist with their careers, both on the creative and business sides of the industry.

Elise McCave (Moderator)

Elise McCave (Moderator)

As Kickstarter’s Head of Film, Elise is responsible for working with filmmakers and organizations worldwide to bring film projects to life, building communities of support, and providing tailored mentorship on fundraising and audience-building for films in development and production. She nurtures emerging talents, with a keen focus on creators from historically underrepresented groups.

Based in New York, she previously worked with Doc Society in London. She is a Rockwood JustFilms Fellow, a DOC NYC New Leader 2023, a member of BAFTA North America, and an independent documentary producer.

The Rush system functions as a standby line that will form at the venue approximately one hour prior to scheduled start time. Admittance is based on availability and will begin roughly 10 minutes prior to program start time. Rush Tickets are the same price as advance tickets and are payable upon entry.
