The Cardinal is one of the leaders of the High Council of Trinity, serving under the great leader of the order, Dr. Pedro Dominguez. Little is currently known about him at this point. It is hinted that he knew Lara 's father Richard Croft.
The Cardinal activated the explosives near the Tomb of Eden in Antarctica, after Lara Croft had sealed it with an intent of killing her in the following avalanche, Lara however survived the attempt on her life.
