Biography[]
Awil was supposed to work the salt with her mother, but Awil wanted to be serpent guard like her father, and tried to read the pillar, but the bottom part was damaged. Lara in her priest disguise offered her help in reading the murals all over Paititi and then discuss them with Awil.
While Awil was waiting on Lara to return her father came and took her to participate in the Ritual of Awakening at the abandoned village. The ritual was to appease Kinich Ahau, with the sacrifice of a child, and prevent the sun's extinguishing.
Lara came as the priest, and when she was supposed to give the nectar of awakening, a poison, to Awil, she instead cut her ponds and told her to run. Awil ran back to her caretaker Mayu, and didn't see how Lara killed her father, who attacked her. After Lara came back to Awil, Awil questioned Lara's actions, because her sacrifice would have saved the sun. Lara told Awil that dreams can be interpreted many ways, and that her father though he needed to sacrifice her, might have been wrong. Awil was exited to tell her father about it, but Mayu understanding what Lara had to do, told Awil that her father would be gone for a while.
