Crab God is very unique. There is an aquarium-like structure to the side-scrolling visuals and it all feels like a compelling underwater paradise with a lot of color and detail. The music and sound contribute to a tranquil atmosphere for the most part. This is a roguelite where you strive to get to the end by choosing from one of two levels across a branching path. Crabs can be hatched from eggs found in levels and you want enough of them to survive that you can make it to the end with at least one. The earlier levels are easy and a great opportunity to do as much as possible to gain abilities that will last from level to level. The difficulty ramps up with days spent.

What really stands out about this game is that the crabs are special, they aren't just any crabs. They have names and abilities and goofy little quirks to them. You select what classes they have but it really feels like each crab has a fated calling based on the RNG of randomized abilities to choose from as they level up. A farmer crab might turn out to be a more effective warrior crab if it acquires a rare attack boost or vice versa. It hits harder to lose them after a substantial amount of time of watching them grow and gain a lot of levels and progress. The difficulty only starts toward the climax of a run where impressive bosses suddenly start to appear. That said, wonderful game and highly enjoyable.

Excellent and cute management game. Really scratches an itch that only a crab god's claw could scratch! I'm a huge Kingdom fan and it's obvious that the devs are as well after playing this.

It is also so nice to see a game where the devs are actively supporting and updating the game whilst also contributing with a real world impact. One of the mechanics in the game is that upon finding and completing an special objective in a level that gives you bonuses you can decide where a portion of the games sales go towards in donations to save the ocean!
