Voidwrought is a 2D action-platformer set in a hand-drawn world of cosmic horrors. You take on the role of the Simulacrum, a mysterious creature who has emerged from a cocoon with an unstoppable compulsion to collect Ichor, the blood of the gods.

The ruined underground world of the First Civilization is filled with treasures sought by the learned, the brave, and the mad. Scour the halls of your shrine, rend the corpses of defeated deities, and hunt in the hidden corners of the cosmos to find Artifacts capable of granting unique powers.

An attempt at constructive feedback

Good visuals, overall good gameplay, but somewhat slidey/floaty controls and underwhelming sound design in some areas. There's a bit of ungainly floatiness in the movements. I feel like I either slide or overstep a bit whenever I move and I can't ever seem to nail a jump exactly where I intend to. Normally I'd blame it on my ineptitude, but I returned to Hollow Knight real quick just to test, and I feel as crisp as ever in there. Technically great but needs polish.

Positive +great artdesign +competent level and puzzle design. +cool and exciting enemies to fight with complex movesets. +good boss design. Fun to fight. Negative -movements feels a bit to fast. Particularly jumping from grabbed ledges. The airmovement after a ledgegrab should be slowed to allow for more precison. Where do you even unlock anything?

As far as I can tell, I have explored everything in the demo, and everything else requires traversal tools that I do not currently have (unless you're supposed to bounce across all those enemies in the room with the gas, in which case, I have zero interest in this game, because that's unreasonably difficult). I've collected a couple yellow artifact things, something that is either currency or xp, and some black shard things. Very good demo! Love the setting, controls, impact, but...will the game have “invulnerability frames” when dashing or rolling? Not used to taking damage during these actions, IMHO. And jumping around the enemies is not the most interesting thing to do, which disrupts the pace of gameplay....
