You cannot expand beyond the starting 3x3 tiles the game makes you select at the beginning.

If you were like me and thought you could put your starting area on the outskirts suburbs of a major city and then slowly push into the downtown area proper, prepare to be disappointed. The maps seem to be basically a 2 square mile stretch of any place on Earth you want, but you CANNOT expand anywhere past that. Not only can you not expand, but you can't even actually go to those tiles at all except by some off-map "expedition" system where your squads can go pretend to go looting.

If you look at some of the squares it creates inside of major cities like Washington or New York, you'll see that it does not even encompass the entirety of a single district in those cities. And no, you cannot uproot and go create another square elsewhere; you're stuck with whatever you selected at the start, meaning you'll eventually (very quickly) see all there is to see and there won't be any exploring left to do on any given map.

The developers say that this system will most likely never be expanded to allow for larger map sizes or acquiring more squares. What a complete let-down for a game whose main gimmick is to give you the ability to play in your own home-town! Only, it's actually only about a tenth of your home-town, so you better choose wisely!

I didn't even bother to mention the problems I had with the general lack of content, terrible voice acting which I'm convinced is actually AI, the fact the developers actually DID use AI to make the artwork, or the rather terrible squad ordering system which requires you to right click every single one of the hundreds of individual houses in a suburb to search them and gets super tiring very quickly. Couldn't there be a way to hold down right click and drag over different buildings to automatically order a squad to search them all? Can't I order squads to search block by block rather than house by house? It's ridiculous busywork when most buildings don't have any supplies anyway.

What a joke.

I liked it, however I would say not for me in it's current state. Although I did play before update #2 so keep that in mind. Let it cook for a bit and it will most likely be golden

Has potential but still a rough gem. In a few months i look favorably to future updates.
