You must go to the library, select the game and right above the achievements you will find the controller section; Select "gamepad settings", a new window will open where you can disable the "steam input" function that prevents the game from recognizing the gamepad. After this, the legend in the control section will change from "partially compatible" to "compatible with your gamepad....."...
