After the shocking events of Order 66 and his daring escape with Ahsoka Tano, Rex took to the shadows of the new Empire. Because the Imperials had him listed as killed, the clone captain worked to keep a low profile. Slowly, he built a network of contacts, including Trace and Rafa Martez, to strike back against the tyranny in the galaxy. When the Bad Batch needed help removing their inhibitor chips, Rex was the only person they could go to. He took them to Bracca to perform the operation and vanished again, leaving the Bad Batch on their own.
