Preparing for launch.
You know that awkward period where all the work being done is maximum spoilers? That’s us right now. We do have something important to say though:
Devil Engine will be at Tokyo Game Show 2018! There will be another new demo of course; Come check that out September 20th-23rd. The game will also be at the BitSummit Roadshow Tokyo on September 19th. BitSummit 2018 was so cool, they’re invading other conventions now!
For everyone at home we’ll finally be dropping something big we’ve been saving. Finally. For real this time, I swear.

Devil Engine is coming to Steam in Winter 2018!
Also coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Exa Arcadia in 2019!

Warning! Huge demo approaching!
The newest, shiniest, finaliest demo for Devil Engine will be going up on steam this Friday, 12/10!
It’s based off the build at Tokyo Game show with some changes and additions from the feedback there. The biggest addition however is online leaderboard support! Compete against the world for score supremacy! Or just your friends! Or just turn steam off and compete with nobody! (Local leaderboards aren’t in this build, they’re super buggy)
I’ve also put together a quick demo FAQ here in the steam discussions (Which Tumblr for some reason refuses to let me link?). No comprehensive change log this time since it’s there’s been a metric ton of changes since last year, you’ll just have to play and see!
So this is the video game that I’ve been working on and now am happy to announce is actually coming out!
I had a lot of fun drawing, animating and writing for the project so I hope you will enjoy playing it.
In the far future a single ship desperately tries to defeat humanities misguided creation but at what cost? Devil Engine is a high octane, classic styled side scrolling shoot-em-up heavily influenced by the best in the genre from the 32-bit era, featuring a variety of incredible locations, hand drawn pixel art, and a blood-pumping soundtrack that brings the dark future to life.

It’s been a long time coming (thanks Nintendo) but the end’s finally in sight! We’ll be doing some extra stuff over on twitter leading up to the launch, so check over there for some more info and webms and junk.

Sorry about the length between posts, We’ve gotten level 3 about done and are starting on level 4 as well as polishing up some bits and pieces of the game (including finally reworking the hit flash). It’s sort of that groove where lot’s getting done but some of it is reworked old stuff or new stuff that isn’t polished enough to show.
If anyone was wondering, Devil Engine won’t be at DD17. We’re frankly not sure whether or not to do another demo at all, but we intend to put out the full game within the next year.
