Homebrew Website Club Berlin #15 on 5 Oct 2017

Update: Homebrew Website Club Berlin cancelled for tonight due to severe weather conditions. Stay indoors, stay safe …and see you Oct 19

Based on a unanimous decision from last time, the next Homebrew Website Club Berlin meeting on Thursday 5 October is going to be - for the first time in our short history - a true “hands on” session: bring your laptop and something you’d like to hack on (can be anything from the most simple updates to your website content to advanced experiments on your server) and join us for an evening of exchanging ideas, tricks and solutions for running our own sites.

As always, we are of course most happy to introduce new attendees to the IndieWeb philosophy and existing techniques. No previous knowledge or experience is required: if you are interested in working on - or even just having - your own homepage, along with both conceptual and technical discussions around an open and independent web, welcome to drop by.

We gather starting from 18:30, with an “official start” at 19:00; stay as long as it is fun, usually we hang around for about two hours. Drinks and candy bars are available for purchase.

Please note that we one more time changed location - likely the last change for the time being, as we have some great news: IN-Berlin e.V., a non-commercial and self-administered alternative internet provider, kindly offered to host our little meetup - their cause and ours (tl;dr: independence on the internet) align very well and we are looking forward to be a part of that community which already gave us a very warm welcome.

Past event

IN-Berlin, Lehrter Str. 53, Berlin, Germany (Moabit, bus M27 and 123, or 15 min walk from Hbf)

Homebrew Website Club is a bi-weekly meetup of people passionate about or interested in creating, improving, building, designing their own website, in the same structure as the classic Homebrew Computer Club meetings.

RSVP on the IndieWeb.org wiki (if you have an Indieweb site), in the comments below, or just join us ex tempore.
