The Altar is a sacred dance between knowledge and secrecy, one of intonation, evocation, gestural and accented imagination. Using the ancestral mind as a conceptual tool, we learn that it is not about what we know, but how we know it.

On The Altar EP, the first Cortizona cassette release, Nkisi (aka Melika Ngombe Kolongo) channels her sound research on ancestral African ethnography and her love for 90's club escapism, throbbing Belgian 80's industrial EBM pulses and electronic extravaganza stompers. Resulting in four ultra personal tracks, drenched in hypnotic mysticism.
