It's a matter of opinion. Personally, I can't stand either series. I don't think they show enough respect for the source material. The original movie changed some aspects of the plot, but they did it for a reason, and for ease of story-telling. Kevin Tancharoen just changes things because he thinks its cooler – and I think that's a bad reason. I hate this new "rule of awesome" "gritty is better" style. And, I think that Kevin Tancharoen just wants to make his own movie, and slap the Mortal Kombat name on it. If he wants to make the movie he wants to make, I say, go ahead…but don't call it "Mortal Kombat". (I'm sorry, but I really hate both Mortal Kombat: Rebirth and Mortal Kombat: Legacy.) —CavalierTunestalk 01:26, May 13, 2011 (UTC)
