Max Crawford was an employee at both Midway Games and NetherRealm Studios working under creative media for various Midway projects, including Mortal Kombat. More notably, he was an actor that portrayed Shujinko in Mortal Kombat: Deception and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, being known as Max "Shujinko" Crawford. In 2012, Max left NetherRealm Studios as he moved away from Chicago.
In addition to his role as Shujinko, Max has also portrayed Onaga in Mortal Kombat: Deception and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon alongside some voice modulation provided by the sound team at the time, as well as performing dialogue for Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat: Deception and Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks. In Mortal Kombat: Armageddon and Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, Max provided the screams, grunts and other gibberish that would be heard in gameplay whilst Shang Tsung was fighting.
