Kick-Ass[]

What's the Earth designation for the Kick-Ass (film)? [1] Kamila_064 21:20, April 5, 2010 (UTC)

So we're covering Kick-Ass now? Why the sudden change?
LoveWaffle (talk) 03:27, March 23, 2013 (UTC)

We (the admins) took a vote, and we decided that certain "Other Media" from imprint publishers should be listed here. For the time being, it's Kick-Ass, and any of the stuff related to the Ultraverse (like the Firearm movie listed here now, a few of the TV series listed on the TV show page). They are going to be treated like any other imprint comic issue would; covered, but not categorized. No appearances, no realities or character pages. --Spencerz (talk) 04:59, March 23, 2013 (UTC)
So what's the point of covering it?
Furthermore, should Red Sonja and the three Men in Black movies be covered as well?
LoveWaffle (talk) 05:56, March 23, 2013 (UTC)
Because we're the Marvel Database, so we cover it.
I'm not sure about Sonja; It was made when Red Sonja was with Marvel. I'll see what some of the other admins think. We decided in that same vote that the (rather large) MIB franchise can be covered by the Malibu Wiki that User:Robert Alvarez runs. --Spencerz (talk) 06:56, March 23, 2013 (UTC)

FF Reboot[]

A March 6, 2015 release date has been set for the Fantastic Four reboot. Since the page does not support references, here is my source. LoveWaffle (talk) 03:41, December 8, 2012 (UTC)

And here's the source on the change in the release date - [1]

Name[]

Per naming conventions, shouldn't the title of the page be "Marvel Films"?
LoveWaffle (talk) 02:36, March 13, 2013 (UTC)

No. If it was a proper title, it would, but this is a utility page, so to speak. --Spencerz (talk) 20:34, March 22, 2013 (UTC)

In-Universe Films[]

I think it would be a nice footnote on the page to have a section at the bottom that lists the number of films that exist inside of the comic continuity. Nothing to fancy, but a little entry noting things like the Captain America serial, or the Thor movie (that became a TV series), or the Rescue movie starring Mary Jane Watson. --Spencerz (talk) 21:07, March 22, 2013 (UTC)

No? If you want to make a page for those, and then link to that at the bottom of the page, maybe. But I can't see those having a place on the page or even passing rudimentary notability.
LoveWaffle (talk) 21:28, March 22, 2013 (UTC)
The mere fact that they are of little notability is the reason that I wanted to connect them to a larger page. But, I think your option would work a little better; a page listing all the in-universe movies, tv shows and video games, with a link to said page at the bottom of the film, tv series and video games pages. --Spencerz (talk) 21:46, March 22, 2013 (UTC)

Cap 3 date source[]

As the film is still technically untitled, a page should not yet be created for it.

Red Sonja[]

Shouldn't the Red Sonja movie be on this page? Not only did Marvel create the character (well, the name Red Sonja was already established in Conan lore, but Marvel created the Red Sonja we all know today), but her movie came out in 1985, long before Marvel lost her rights in 2000. - Edward Zachary Sunrose (talk) 00:21, August 26, 2020 (UTC)

The main thing I know about this, is that we have TRNs for when both that movie, and the Conan ones, had comic adaptations, with Marvel Comics Super Special #38 for Red Sonja. So I don't know if a page on its own is needed, or if just a listing on this page (linking to somewhere else) would suffice. (Unrelated, but I definitely do not think the Conan movies should be listed on here.)
KalKent (Anton) (Earth-1218) (talk) 00:37, August 26, 2020 (UTC)
Oh, I wasn't suggesting making a page for the movie or anything. Just adding the film to this page. It could be like with the Kingsman or MiB movies, how it redirects to another Wiki. I also agree with you that the Conan movies should not be included, because Conan is his own thing. But due to the nature of how Marvel basically created Red Sonja from scratch, just using the name of a pirate from the 1500's from an unrelated story by Robert E. Howard, and inserted her into Howard's Conan mythology, she's somewhat of a unique case. - Edward Zachary Sunrose (talk) 00:46, August 26, 2020 (UTC)
I also realized this is a question we have do ask now, since a reboot is currently in the works, if we were to list that one as well if it happens. I'm for listing it, and linking it to w:c:conan:Red Sonja (1985 movie), at the Conan Wiki.
KalKent (Anton) (Earth-1218) (talk) 01:05, August 26, 2020 (UTC)
Sounds good, I'll get started now. Should the same be applied to "Red Sonja: Queen of Plagues"? The 2016 animated movie based on Red Sonja? - Edward Zachary Sunrose (talk) 01:23, August 26, 2020 (UTC)
I'll wait on doing anything until we've gotten more feedback. I've asked the other admods for input on this.
KalKent (Anton) (Earth-1218) (talk) 02:10, August 26, 2020 (UTC)
My apologies. I got a little enthusiastic. - Edward Zachary Sunrose (talk) 02:29, August 26, 2020 (UTC)
No worries. So far we've let it stay up, and no one has voiced any objections to it so far. I also just realized that Rom would fall under the same umbrella. A character that's (now) a Hasbro property, and was originally licensed to Marvel for its source material and debut, but Marvel no longer has the rights to. But we would still list adaptations of it on pages like this, in the event one happens (like a film adaptation which was announced a while ago).

The Toxic Avenger[]

I note that "The Toxic Avenger is a Marvel comic on here so why haven't the movies/TV shows been added he? The toxic Avenger 1984 Andree Maranda , Mitch Cohen The Toxic Avenger 2023 Jacob Tremblay, Elijah Wood {{SUBST:User:Wildecoyote/sig|06:22,9/21/2023}}

The Toxic Avenger was created for the 1984 film of the same name. The comic series didn't start publication until 1991. Back then Marvel published several comics that were based on properties that were licensed from other companies. They made comics based on G.I. Joe, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, The A-Team, Captain Planet, ect. Toxic Avenger isn't really a Marvel character even though Marvel published a comic series about him.Brandonbaker01 (talk) 02:41, 22 September 2023 (UTC)

Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark?[]

Why is Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark listed here? That was a Broadway play, not a film, and the article doesn't mention a cinema screening (which I know they do with some British plays). 23skidoo (talk) 13:38, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
