Doug Siravanta was an employee for the Beyond. A week after starting, he went out for drinks with colleagues and got drunk. On his way back to his home, he was kidnapped by Kraven the Hunter.^[1] Kraven held Doug and two other Beyond employees captive at the company's algae and seaweed cultivation plant, where the villain also captured Spider-Man. The hero had been poisoned by Kraven, so Doug offered him some of Beyond's experimental phamaceutical pills that he regularly used on himself for hangovers. It recovered Spider-Man from the poison's hallucinogenic effects, and he managed to fend off Kraven the Hunter. After Kraven escaped, the employees made contact with Beyond to be rescued.^[2]

Due to the shared experience with Spider-Man, Doug came to think of himself as a friend of his. However, because of his misuse of the company's pills, Doug was demoted to the Beyond Branch #C-47. This data center was then raided by Doctor Octopus during his quest against Beyond. Doug was one of the employees the villain took hostage while he made his way through the building. They were saved by Spider-Man's intervention, and the hero recognized Doug from their previous encounter.^[3]
