Meet Antonia Ritter, one of the remarkable women in robotics shaping the future at KUKA! “A pure office job is not for me. I also want to create things with my hands.” At KUKA, Antonia brings innovative robotic solutions such as the autonomous mobile robot KMR iisy to life. As part of an international development team, it fills her with particular pride when all the individual software and hardware components work together perfectly in the end. Antonia is the one who puts a new product into operation for the very first time. In her role as commissioning engineer, Antonia uses the AMR KMR iisy in customer production environments and showcases it at trade fairs around the world. She embodies the spirit of #innovation and the hands-on approach that define us at #HomeofRobotik. Read more in KUKA iimagazine about what Antonia loves most about her job at #KUKA and what skills are needed to be successful in the world of innovative robotics: https://lnkd.in/dWMeQE7p #KUKA #KUKArobot #automation #robots #AMR #KMRiisy

On the occasion of World Brain Day on July 22, we would like to introduce you to our customer RONNA Medical, a medtech-company from Croatia that is establishing itself in the field of robotic neurosurgery. Based on the KUKA LBR Med, the robot-based system RONNA has been developed as an interactive neurosurgical robotic system to assist in the pre-operative phase. The system operates with high precision and is able to control any point on the patient's head with very high accuracy. RONNA is therefore suitable for use in targeted brain tumor surgery, biopsies and deep brain stimulation. The KUKA headquarters was all about AI today 💡 At the internal #AI Day, our colleagues provided valuable insights into AI at KUKA. The KI Infomobile was also on site. The project, which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS), is being carried out by the Fraunhofer IAO and the Institute of Human Factors and Technology Management IAT at the Universität Stuttgart. The aim is to provide information about the areas of application and limitations of AI and to enable employees to actively and specifically help shape the introduction of the technology. Last but not least, #Microsoft was also on site to provide information about #Copilot in daily work. A big thank you to everyone who joined us and made this event a success! #KUKA #KUKArobotics #automation #robots #HomeOfRobotik #artificialintelligence #innovation #Fraunhofer #AIinWorkplace

Humans and robots: perfect #teamwork at Ford #Ford relies on human-robot collaboration (HRC) from KUKA to provide an ergonomic workplace for workers assembling headlights. The HRC solution makes it possible for robots and humans to work on the same vehicle at the same time, without any safety equipment. Two LBR iiwa cobots from KUKA take over the unergonomic adjustment of fog lights. At the same time, the operator can adjust the main headlights. Advantages of the HRC - Human + robot working in the tightest of spaces - Relief for the worker during ergonomically unfavorable activities - Improved adjustment quality of the fog lights - Saves time If you would like to find out more about KUKA's innovative automation solutions, you can find more information at the following link: https://lnkd.in/dZaEjMqF #KUKArobot #automation #automotiveindustry #HRC

KUKA is setting new standards in the metal industry: together with us, HS Automation GmbH has developed a material-friendly laser welding process for metal 3D printing based on the printer head of Meltio 🖨️ Our innovative 3D printing process significantly reduces both costs and labor in the production of metal parts. Together with a specially developed rotary tilting table from KUKA, the KR IONTEC enables the precise production of complex structures with hardly any material waste. Our robot arm and the tilting table move in perfect synchronization and weld the 3D object layer by layer. Unlike conventional metal 3D printing, this advanced automation cell works completely without support structures. Find out more about metal 3D printing with KUKA, the process and its benefits: https://lnkd.in/d5vX5u28 #KUKA #KUKArobotics #automation #robots #HomeOfRobotik #KRIontec #3DPrinting

Together with Fraunhofer IPA and our KR QUANTEC, we dismantle battery systems and can thus recycle valuable components. 🚙♻️ As part of the “DeMoBat” research project, we are looking at the future of the automotive industry, in particular the challenges surrounding electric car batteries. The more electric cars are produced, the more used batteries are produced. Dismantling these batteries is essential in order to be able to recycle the individual parts. 🛠️🔋 “Dismantling batteries poses three major challenges,” explains Anwar Al Assadi, group manager at Fraunhofer IPA. “Firstly, you need specially qualified specialists, because working with high-voltage technologies requires special and often time-consuming training. Secondly, manual disassembly is associated with a health risk due to the high voltage and dangerous gases, and in the worst case, self-ignition can occur. And thirdly, dismantling by hand takes a very long time and is correspondingly cost-intensive. This often makes recycling seem unprofitable at the moment.” This is where our robot-based solution comes into its own. Our KR QUANTEC helps to reduce the shortage of skilled workers, minimize the safety risk and improve the cost-effectiveness of battery recycling. 🦾 #KUKA #KUKArobotics #automation #robots #HomeOfRobotik #emobility #recycling
