We make society aware of the concerns of the aged and promote better understanding of ageing issues. We help the elderly become aware of their own rights so that they get their due and are able to play an active role in society.

Forget #RetirementPlanning. You need to invest time and resources in #Longevity planning, instead. And guess what, merely #investing money is not enough. Take a look at the attached graphic on the living conditions of the current 60+ generation in India (per a recent HelpAge India study). Putting it together was a wake-up call for me. It showed me how horribly unprepared I am and I guess, most of us are for longevity. This, even as we diligently read about it, apply what we read, workout, diet, and monitor every little twitch in our bodies. The simple truth: You need money and physical health on your side. You also need #mentalwellbeing and #cognitivehealth, a circle of #friends and a safe place to live and age. In most cases, we are not prepared for the latter three. Consider planning now so you can age healthy, manage healthcare expenses and fight loneliness. As experts I spoke with made it clear, 'do not bank on children or government support in our old age. We have to prepare for the eventuality that we will have to manage ourselves.' If tomorrow's #Budget or future budgets reward you with schemes or incentives, consider it a bonus. Limited access to healthcare information leaves disadvantaged elders and their communities dangerously exposed to threats like dengue, especially during peak monsoon season. Thank you, Honda India Foundation, for your invaluable partnership and support in bringing Dengue Awareness to disadvantaged elders and their communities in Karnataka through specialised sessions.
With Monsoon on the horizon, the menace of mosquitoes has already begun in Karnataka. With rising cases of dengue fever each day, Honda India Foundation joined efforts with HelpAge India to organise a "Dengue Awareness Session" on the 18th of July 2024 for the people in Mindahalli, Bhavanahalli, Dombrahalli, and Jakkasandra. FIS’ financial inclusion strategy includes access to healthcare regardless of one’s financial situation.
