Recently at the Ubisoft Forward event, Massive Entertainment showed a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming game, Star Wars Outlaws. The trailer gave us a closer look at the open-world game and what players can expect. Meanwhile, a leak suggests that the game got delayed because Ubisoft decided to focus on releasing Avatar instead of Star Wars Outlaws.

With the launch of StarWars Outlaws scheduled for August 30th, 2024, the trailer showcased detailed gameplay. The trailer showed us some of the game's upgrade mechanics, including experts who can teach you skills and techniques. It also introduces a whole new area where merchants and NPCs will react differently based on Kay Vess' reputation with the crime syndicate in the area. Furthermore, the detailed gameplay showcased stealth capabilities in the Hutt Territory, showcasing abilities like stealth fights, takedowns, using Nix to scan the area, to distract enemies and engaging in blaster combat. Various enemy types were also revealed, including chargers and ranged fighters.

Why Star Wars Outlaws was delayed

Recently, leaker Visceral over a X post (formerly known as Twitter), revealed info about Project Helix which is Star Wars Outlaws essentially being first targeted as a 2023 release in the alpha stages. He also further revealed that “one individual told me they decided to ship Avatar instead of Outlaws and that’s why it’s delayed 1 year”.
