Qiu “Autumn” Lin:
A true Golden Grove local, born and raised. Qiu is the kid to know in that town. The most popular, the most charming, until it all becomes too much. There’s a point where a coldness comes over Qiu and they shut out all except a few people. However, the rain doesn’t fall forever, and sadness can heal with real support. The day comes when Qiu is able to shine again, even brighter than before.
In Autumn you will find a thoughtful individual who just needs some time to embrace the person they’ve always known they were. Qiu was assigned male at birth, but comes out as genderfluid (they/he) partway through the story.
Tamarack Baumann:
A fellow newcomer, Tamarack moved in only about a week before you did. She’s a darling joy to those who get to have her company. And like the forests she loves so much, Tamarack is always changing in big and small ways. That isn’t always for the better. She’s surrounded by wrong branches, leading her down paths that only cause hurt. Yet despite all the pricks and snags on her path, the heart always remains the same.
With Tamarack you’ll see a kind miss who has a lot to learn about herself, but will never stop trying to find her way. Tamarack is a woman who only ever uses she/her pronouns.

Gotta say great choice for choosing whoever drew this character art id say its more my style (perfect mix of cute and beautiful). So far this games looking better than the first one i didnt think that was possible. Oh and i gotta ask will qiu and tamaracks interaction at the step two prolog change if we do more memories because we only have 6 so far (patreon beta if your confused only 2 memories for the public demo) and will it change with all 10

I'm happy you enjoy the game! There will be more hair options added in the future. But we're not able to add MC religion into the story. It'd be too difficult to write all the alterations that'd be needed for the MC to properly follow a range of different religious practices. And it wouldn't make sense if you could simply say you were religious, but then didn't follow any of the teachings.

If you play until the step two sneak peek. There's a small little preview if you're willing to put the poly options in just for a little sneak peek. It's very minor though
Dev plans to add a polyamorous choice eventually but it'll be a V-relationship. You cannot enter a polyamorous relationship with both LIs until Step 4! If you look at the Development Log you can see a post about it :)
Hihi! I was just wondering, since there's gonna be a polyamorous option in Our Life 2, is there going to be a QPR (Queer Platonic Relationship) option when the time comes to release the full game? I don't mind if there won't be, I just thought it would be a ncie feature, considering I'm on the aromantic spectrum myself :D

Hello! For the Kickstarter, I remember one of the tiers is being able to have your name/name of choice voiced when voice actors come in I think? will there be anything like that in the future, I missed the Kickstarter but I'm hoping there will be another opportunity to have a name voiced. This is unrelated but tysm for making non-verbal options in the game, it's nice to see visual novels have that option especially since I'm nonverbal myself it's very comforting!

Hello! I just finished playing my first walkthrough of the game and wanted to know what being surly to either of the two meant. I noticed that for Qiu, you can be sarcastic or mean towards them in Step 2. Does being surly mean your friendship/relationship with the character is like being mean besties? Maybe, I'm way off haha.
Being surly means you insult them, get annoyed by them, and dismiss the fact that you're friends or act like you're not. It's having a bad attitude, haha.
This is my review before i play this game, future me, please, let me know if my opinions are still the same.
I'm truly amazed by how much different, yet equal, both GBPatch (Our Life) games are, i had saw this game about months ago, but only actually came here to read the description and see how it's going now, after playing Our Life: Beginnings And Always.
I'm sure this game will be just as amazing as every Visual Novel i've already played on Itch Io, yet with that special touch that only a GBPatch's game has.
Still didn't play it as it is still on Demo and i get too anxious when waiting for a game to be fully published after playing it's Demo, which is why i'll wait until the full game gets published.
Now for my current views of the characters and what i think and like about each one.
Qiu “Autumn” Lin
YOU STOLE MY SURNAME, lol, normally i would use ''Autumn'' as the surname of my OC in every game possible, first time there's already a character with this surname, i'll have to think about a new one just so i can play it whithout sounding strangely like i'm related to Qiu :'(
Who knows, maybe i'll use Holden :>
Jokes aside, i found they/he extremely cute, i absolutely love how he's always using a fur coat in each of theirs/his clothes.
For me, they/he looks like a social butterfly that end up more distant and introvert as the years went by or get trought a ''mom leave me alone'' phase, either one, i absolutely adore they/him.
He strongly reminds me of Jacob(The Twilight Saga) and i don't know why.
Tamarack Baumann
I just feel like she's the main character, dunno why, she's just as cute as Qin, yet she gives me Willow(The Owl House) vibes.
From the description i'm sure she was bullied, i'll make sure to make those bullies eat dirt as soon as i play the game, she's just so precious...
I absolutely love her hair color, reminds me strongly of the sunset(idk why, her hair is orange).
She reminds me of my real life crush, fr, i'll conquer you heart Tamarack, just wait for it.

I love that we have the option of polyamory, i myself never played much games that allowed the MC to stay with more than one person, you should always choose one, which would end up with me playing all the routes with each character :')
From the description, i believe, but ain't sure, that Qin and Tamarack aren't the only characters you can romance, but the main ones, which is also something i love.
As i said before, this is a review before playing the game, so my thoughts may be wrong or may change after playing it, looking foward to do my next review after i play it, for now, as i didn't played it, i give it a 8/10 from what i currently think, but for sure it will change when i play it.

How can you go back to a specific chapter of the game? Like I wanna go back to the linked memories but when I cliked the stage 2, at the end it just says thank you, but then I wont be able to go back to the linked memories.
If you have a save before you picked any Moments, then you're good to go. But you don't have a save, then i hope this helps. If your mouse has a scroll wheel, i think you can move it up as a way to go back until you reach the Moments Selection page.
Here is the mouse controls guide in the game.
There are also controls of the keyboard (Page Up and Page Down) but for some reason, they don't work for me.
Sorry but I play on the phone. Is there a way I can access those on phones?

If it's like OLBA, the base game is free. The DLCs (which are 5 additional moments and are optional) will be like $3-$5.
The base game is complete on its own but some of us get the DLCs just for the extra experience.

Hello, I was just contemplating something. You've done summer and fall type of visual novels so far, does that mean you'll also do winter and spring types in the future?
i remember Kab saying this in a lot of places (tumblr, discord, etc) but OLNF will be the last installment for the OL series (hoping for now).
She may revisit the OL again but that would be many years later after OLNF's completion.
I just played the extended demo and it was great!! It felt kind of short though zooming to highschool already. It felt like i just got to golden grove and then now they're saying I've been there forever. I hope there is some additional scenes in the final game! I also played the preview for step 2. It was kind of sad seeing the changes between Tamarack and Qiu's relations. I really wished we could've been a best friend trio.
dont worry, step 1 will have 5 free moments, 5 dlc moments, and an epilogue. so, the extended demo still has ways to go!

I'm sorry it's not working. There can be a lot of reasons. It might be because of your settings, not enough space, a virus scanner not trusting the file, because there's old builds of the game on the device that are confusing the install, etc. If you can give me more details I could try and suggest something.
What do you mean by my settings? Can you please elaborate? and I have enough space to download or install more apps, and I don't think it has detect any virus on the game because if it has it would notify me. So I guess it only left with the settings.
It can't really download. I did every method I can think of to install it to no avail.
I mean your device's settings for allowing downloads and third party apps. Sometimes phones will simply not let you download something because of their own terms or permissions. I don't know exactly what they'd be because I don't know what you're using. I'm sorry. You could try searching online for the specific device you have and tutorials for letting apps install not through the playstore.
Hi again! Thank you for suggestions because I finally installed the game. But one question, why is the game (demo) on update 1.4.0? Which step 2 is only on preview stage and when I'm going to the school scene, it ends there, and I noticed that in the mini-adventures ( the picture album), only the walks and wheels is on there, there's no hide and seek, the magic, the dance class,and the sleep over. (I'm not trying to be rude, this is just how I type in english, which is my second language and I'm still not very good at it.) Thank you!
GBPATCH, How do I get the virus scanner to let me download the game I need both OLBA and OLNF (I use a Mac)
It depends on the virus scanner you have. You can sometimes just ignore the warning, or there's a way to tell the scanner to trust this file, or you can turn it off for a moment while the game installs and then put it back on. I'm afraid I can't know for sure what your solution would be.

Those website are pirating sites. They steal any game they think has or will have adult content. They just made up whatever weird tags it might have on their site. I can't stop porn sites from re-uploading our content, but OL2 is not an adult game. The only official places to download it are Itch.io and Steam. Perhaps it was the poor wording which I wouldn’t be surprised about since your grammar in itself is more of a challenge to read than getting into Harvard, have you ever considered that the reason the devs have not inputted any sexual content is 1) their age, the fact they are children and that the game is in development, therefore many endgame results are subject to change and 2) sexual content is not the purpose of the game, that is not its intent, so since you are clearly not interested in the romantic and wholesome aspect that the game brings, and the thought that it would contain sexual content had you hyped up, this game is clearly not intended for your audience. Simple as that.

You'll get to choose hair length and some small accessories, but not their full outfit like Cove.

Hi GBPatch!! I've been thinking of getting this game, since your other "Our Life" game was absolutely amazing! (The add-ons for Cove were so worth it!) However, since it is in demo, I'm a bit worried, as there will probably be updates in the future. How do you update the game? And if you do update the game, will your previous saves disappear? I don't know if these questions have been answered already. If they have, sorry! I just really want to play this! :D
I've been playing the demo since release and my saves haven't been deleted from any updates yet. The dev only had put a warning on step 2 that any saves on that step won't be loadable in the future since it's only a preview for now.
I'm not the dev so I can't guarantee you anything but I'm pretty sure your save will be fine when the game is fully released as long as you don't save it in step 2.
I'm glad you're enjoying Our Life! To update you can use the Itch app to apply the new additions, or simply delete the old folder and download it again. Save files sometimes work in later versions, but not always. It's best to assume you'll have to start from the beginning once the full game launches. I'm sorry for that.

I'm so excited for this game! The amount of love and work put into it is insane, and everything feels so well done and thought out. I've already replayed it numerous times, I can't imagine how much more obsessed I'm gonna be when the full thing comes out. 😭

I really love this came and i cant wait to see more of it, even tho i find it a little disapointing that u can only romance Tamarack and Qiu Lin. Baxter or Daren would be a nice addition but just Tamarack and Qiu Lin would also be enough :D Cant wait to see more of the game, its really great
If you like Baxter he's a romance option in Our Life Begining and Always, there's a dlc specific for Baxter in that game.
Devs saidnthere will be prolly not be a darren dlc or baxter dlc cause they swid the regluar name would already be long enough
